11/10 - 11/14 Third Floor Framing and Roof Decking

Framing stage is almost over! Third floor framing is done. We already finished the second and third floor terrace decking, as well as the roof complete structure and decking. Framing guys are working now in finishing the framing in the interior walls. They still have to do the interior furring of the existing stone walls (necesarry for proper insulation of this walls).

Also this week, Roger and company have been working in the stairs from the first level down to the living room and the back stairwell that goes fromo the first to the second level, these are still in process. They have also been working in polishing the demo of the existing stone walls.

We met with the insulation contractor, and we are still deciding if we need all the walls, floors and ceilings to be insulatated by Icynene foam, or if we can achieve our R-value goal using fiberglass in some areas for less cost.

We've been doing research on the best option for water heating (electric heat pump, gas tankless water heater etc.) and designing an energy efficient hot water distribution. The plumber paid us a visit this week, plumbing work coming up soon.

11/05-11/7 Third floor framing

Third level subfloor is done. The view up there is amazing! The walls are almost done. Materials for the roof were already ordered and delivered on site. Next week the roof framing will be done...wow!

Today David went and measured all the window openings.

Also today, the structural engineer came and took a look at all the house's structure. Everything was fine and according to his design.

Roger has been doing adjustments in the interior and polishing the demolition.

Looking good!
